Bollywood actors who turned down

As they say, one person’s loss is another person’s gain, it so happens that even in Bollywood industry, the saying remains intact. A lot of actors nowadays go behind scripts either for their screenplay or the role weight-age. Some actors turn down offers from movie makers either due to date issues, which by the way is understandable, or the other category where they blame the personal discrepancies as their reason. But these are sometimes never leaked out or never openly told in the media. The Public just understands it as ‘no date’ category and that’s done. Today, we are going to present to you something crazy and a lot of insider news on why these actors turned down certain movies.

Well, we have put together some quotes from close sources of these actors and we will be telling you a lot more than you actually know. Well, so read on and find out which of your favourite Bollywood actors who turned down what kind of movies and what were their reasons.

Bollywood Actors On Turning Down Movie Offers

1Raja Hindusthani – Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai

Director Dharmesh Darshan, like everyone knows is known for his amazing screenplay and beautiful story writing. His dream cast was the AA duo! Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai were two people he set his eyes on when he wanted to direct the movie Raja Hindusthani. But, Aish had different plans by then. It was reported by one of her close sources that the teen model opted to enter the Miss World pageant. This sure was a great offer turned down but lets face it, Aishwarya did India proud by amazingly winning the Miss world in 1994. But, her loss was Karishma Kapoor’s gain and the movie went on to be a massive blockbuster hit.

2Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam(HDDCS) – Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor sure is the begum of Bollywood and no one can deny that. She is pretty, gorgeous and has amazing acting skills. While she became a huge fad after K3G (Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Ghum), her foundation could have been laid a little earlier itself had she accepted the movie offer – HDDCS.

It was told that she turned down the offer because at that time she was concentrating on another movie. Well, turned out that a few days into that movie, she walked out of that movie as well. Wondering which movie that is? It is none other than the most famous movie, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai! It is no news that Kareena Kapoor has turned down more than 20 amazing blockbusters because of poor decision making. Well, her loss is Aish’s and Ameesha’s gain!

3Chennai Express – Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif

Who would be bold enough or probably dumb enough to say no to starring opposite SRK? Well, the Brazilian lady, Katrina Kaif was busy with the other Khan for her movie Dhoom 3, which wasn’t much appreciated. Rohit Shetty ideally wanted KK to be his first choice for the movie Chennai Express. But, not just due to date problems, but also because she had some internal cold war with the director, she turned down the offer.

Deepika, on the other hand took the right decision and stepped into the offered opportunity. The movie churned huge profit and Deepika’s acting was praised to glory. Oh Katrina, you should be more sensitive when it comes to giving up movies to your ex-boyfriend’s ex!

4The Dirty Picture – Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut is a wonderful actress and we all know that. She is brilliant, bold, beautiful and definitely one of the very few actresses who has gotten a national award for her astounding acting in her movies. While, that is the case, she turned down a movie that could have easily been a feather in the cap moment for her.

The movie Dirty Picture was scripted for her and she turned down the offer because the actress felt that the role had too much physical exposure and that she wouldn’t be comfortable with it. Vidya Balan on the other hand, took the golden opportunity to show the world how good an actress she is. Either way, both are really good actresses and we aren’t complaining at all!

5Lagaan – Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice of the director of the movie Lagaan. Well, why didn’t SRK do it though? Everyone said that it was the date clash, but the insider news is that SRK was never comfortable doing a period film. Though Lagaan wasn’t much of a period film, the character Bhuvan and the era that it was set in were in the 30s, before independence. Our Badshah of Bollywood felt that, he wouldn’t have suited the role much and turned the offer down. Well, isn’t that almost bad luck? Aamir Khan on the other hand, as we all know is a brilliant actor and he of course did an astounding job in the movie.

6Baazigar – Salmaan Khan

Salmaan Khan

It so happens that whatever movie Salman Khan rejects, goes directly in Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster kitty. There are easily 3 to 4 movies, including Chek De that have been rejected by Salman Bhai.

The reason why Bhai rejected Baazigar is because he did not like the negative role of the lead and wanted to concentrate more on the positive aspects of being an actor. He didn’t want to be an anti-hero when he was flourishing his career in being a hero. Who knew being an anti-hero would bring out so much fame to the actor and the movie. SRK’s Baazigar is praise worthy and got him not just accolades, but also huge offers after that.

Well, isn’t it funny that these Bollywood actors have actually turned down some seriously amazing movies and have missed their opportunity to be more popular? Well, like I already said, one person’s loss is another’s gain. But, it sure would have been different and new if the movies were shot using the original selection of Bollywood actors. Anyway, the show’s over and we hope our actors don’t make silly decisions henceforth and choose the script for the valid reasons.
