Makeup Tips and Tricks

Most of the women nowadays have many skin problems like blackheads, pimples, sunburn, oily skin, etc. For those are having oily skin problem, applying makeup is a bit tough as oil keeps on absorbing the makeup and you have to apply a foundation or face powder again and again. So, here are some makeup tips and tricks for oily skin.

Makeup Tips and Tricks

1Face Cleanser

Face Cleanser

A face cleanser will help to clean your skin and draw out any impurities. It also prevents oiliness on your skin throughout the day. For this first rinse your face with warm water. Then gently apply cleanser and then rinse it. Pat dry your face with a clean towel. Do not wash your face more than once or twice because washing your face will remove the natural moisture in your skin and make your skin more oily. You can wash your face once in the morning and once when you go to bed in the night.

2Toner

Toner

Toner helps to keep your face oil at bay and will also help to keep your skin clean. Toners also help to remove excess dirt, makeup, and oil from your skin. Take a cotton ball and put some toner onto it. Wipe the cotton ball all over your face. Don’t apply toner on your eyelids. After applying, allow the product to air dry. In order to avoid your skin dehydrate, use an alcohol-free toner. If you don’t like to buy costly branded toners, you can use the natural toner like rosewater.

3Moisturizer

Moisturizer

Why do you have oily skin? It is because your skin is dehydrating and the pores on your skin are over producing oil to compensate that. An oily skin always needs an additional moisture. Always choose a lightweight moisturizer that is oil-free, mattifying, and shine-reducing. Take some moisturiser on your fingers and gently apply it to your face. More than lightweight, mattifying moisturizers actually help to absorb excess oil. They are also great for acne prone skin. If you keep forgetting to apply sunscreen while going out you can use a moisturizer which has SPF.

Note: Before applying any makeup let your skin dry so that you know that the moisturiser or the toner has been absorbed into your skin completely. This is an essential part of any makeup tips and tricks. Without letting your face dry never apply makeup. Otherwise, your face will look more oily.

4Makeup Setting Spray

Makeup Setting Spray

Use a spray which is especially for oily skin. Spray it all over your face and it will help to lock in the oil on your face so that it won’t peek through your makeup throughout the day. Wait for the spray to dry.

5Primer

Primer

The primer basically smoothens your skin and gives a shine-free base for your makeup. Choose a primer which is either mattifying, oil free, powder or liquid-to-powder form. Take some primer and apply a thin, even layer on your face and your eyelids. If you don’t want to use the same primer for your eyelids, you can buy a separate primer for your eyelids.

6Powder

Powder

Apply a bit of powder on your face using a powder brush before you apply foundation. The powder will help to remove leftover oil. It will also help your skin look fresh.

7Foundation

Foundation

Take a liquid foundation and apply on your skin using a makeup sponge. It will just give you more flawless skin and stick throughout the day. If you are using a brush, just brush all over the face as a layer of foundation. You can also dab some foundation on your face by using a sponge. Using a sponge will help the foundation stay throughout the day. Make sure you use an oil-free foundation or mattifying one. If you do not like liquid foundation, you can select a powder foundation or a mousse foundation.

8Concealer

Concealer

Usually, the woman having oily skin is prone to have breakouts and blemishes. In order to avoid that apply light layers of liquid matte concealer. It will help to minimize blemishes without causing new breakouts. Use the stick concealer or a concealer brush to apply on your dark circles, red marks, and blemishes. If you want additional coverage, you can also apply a layer of liquid concealer. Then take some powder foundation and apply it. This will seal the makeup. Avoid cream concealers as they will close your pores. After applying concealer apply the powder again. This will keep your makeup throughout the day without your skin becoming oily again.

9Eye Makeup

Eye Makeup

Always use a waterproof and smudge-free eye makeup because you don’t want your kajal or mascara to spread on your face. You can pair a cream eyeshadow with a waterproof eyeliner and mascara. Instead of applying concealer on your eyelids, apply an eyelid primer.

10Blotting Paper

Blotting Paper

At some point in the day, your face will surely become oily. So, to avoid that take Blotting paper and gently press a sheet onto the oily spot. Make sure you do not rub it across your entire face. Once the oil is absorbed, carefully peel the paper like you remove a face mask.
