1Show interest on your bank

If you are paying a monthly fee for your saving account, you are liable for few perks and benefits. Always keep in contact with your bank officer and get to know the new banking facilities and the interest levels. Though the rate of interest changes, it is good to be updated about the various banking facilities. Not only do some banks, give you extra rewards for showing interest in their banking ideas, they also give you spot on registration to one of their tie ups and increase your perks by manifolds. So if you have not shown much interest on this, try to increase your interest to earn more perks from the bank’s side.

2Try to cut down on TV

cut down

One big thing to cut down on the amount of television watching could save you more money. Did you know how? Well, when you watch less TV, you get to save on electricity, exposure to buying things is less because you watch less ads. You have much more time to focus on other things like life, side business if any. You also would not require to buy other things like food, fries, coke to fill your stomach when you are watching tv.

3Sell and not collect

not collect

Try to sell off the collections that you have. That can fetch you a lot more money than you think. Sometimes what happens is, you think that the collections that you make are the best in the world, but end up seeing duplicate vintage ones anyway. So what is the use of collecting all that? You might as well just sell it for a good price and make money out of it.

4Make your own gifts and not buy new ones

own gifts

If you want to gift your friends with something that you make, how would it be? Think of it like this. It is personal, efficient and you are learning something new everyday. Isn’t that a huge accomplishment? Bake them cookies, homemade soaps or even try to give them candles that smell great. If you want to save money while also giving generously, creating your own homemade gifts is one way to accomplish both goals. Try to gift them fruit jams, home baked bread. They all have a personal touch to it. So, try and give them a great treat which will surely be loved by them because obviously you are making it and not buying it from somewhere.

5Write a list before you go shopping

Sticking to a list before you go shopping is the best thing to save some great money. When you know what exactly you want to buy, you needn’t worry about the budget. Stick to the list always!

6Invite friends home, instead of going out

going out

Going out to eat or going to a ‘nice’ place ruins your plans of saving money and budget. It only ends up in making you spend a hell lot of more money and that is a huge drawback. No matter what, it is always cheaper to bring friends home and make a nice meal for them. Instead of hitting the pubs, make a girl’s night out and enjoy indoors.

7Stitch your clothes

Stitch

Re-stitch your clothes instead of buying new ones. You needn’t have to toss your clothes because that is not doing any good to saving money. Don’t toss out a shirt because of a broken button – sew on a new one with some closely-matched thread. Don’t toss out pants because of a hole in them – put in a patch of some sort and save them for times when you’re working around the house.

8For heaven’s sake, quit smoking

If you want to add years to your life and save a boatload of money, the easiest thing to do is to stop smoking altogether.
