Now a Days many people suffer from rashes. The cause of skin rash can be eczema, psoriasis, allergies, insect bites, mites, acne, excessive sweating, or toiletries like soaps, detergents, shampoos or cosmetics that do not suit your skin. Skin color changes to read with the area getting swollen. Skin rashes are often itchy and can appear in any part of the body. Usually, rashes go away after you apply anti-allergic cream or Aloe Vera gel. But if it doesn’t go away after 2-3 days, then you might have to consult a doctor who can suggest a blood test find the root cause. However, there are many home remedies to heal skin rashes.

1Baking Soda

Baking soda also serves to wipe out skin rashes. It reduces the itching and swelling caused due to rashes.

In a bowl take one spoon of baking soda. Add three spoons of water. Apply this mixture on the concerned area. Leave it for a few minutes before washing it off. Do this once every day till rashes get healed.

You can make a mixture of baking soda and coconut oil. Make a paste and apply it on your rash. Leave it for some time and then clean it off. Repeat this home remedy at least once or twice daily. Make sure you do not leave the baking soda on your skin for more than 5 minutes because it will cause more inflammation.

2Aloe Vera

Doctors always recommend Aloe Vera gel for rashes because it has anti-inflammatory, emollient, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Aloe Vera is great for treating many skin diseases including rashes. Apart from healing, it also calms the skin, reduces itching and decreases redness.

Take an aloe leaf and extract fresh Aloe Vera gel. Now apply the gel on the concerned area. Leave it at least 20 minutes, and then clean it off. Do this at least three times a day until the rash goes off.

If you do not have aloe vera leaf, you can buy an aloe vera gel or extract which is easily available at all medical stores.

3Lemon Juice

Lemon contains citric acid, which works wonders on the skin rashes.

  • Take a lemon and extract juice out of it.
  • Now apply the juice on the rash and let it dry. This helps to relieve from redness and itchiness .

Take 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds and crush them. Mix a teaspoon of water and lemon juice. Apply this paste on the rashes. This is said to be one of the best home remedies to heal the skin rashes.

4Olive Oil

Extra-virgin olive oil works great on the skin. It acts as a moisturizer, heals the redness and provides vitamin E. It also calms your skin and reduce itching. Rashes can also increase your body temperature .The area where rashes appear you can feel the heat.

What you have to do is take extra-virgin olive oil or a mixture of olive oil and honey. Rub it on your rash a daily 2 or 3 times until it recovers fully.

You can also add a little turmeric powder to some olive oil. Apply the paste to the affected area for a few days. Turmeric has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities. It comforts rashes and eases itching.

Apart from olive oil, even castor oil, and coconut oil can help to heal rashes. A mixture of vitamin E oil and cod liver oil is another common remedy.

5Oatmeal

Oatmeal is excellent for relieving skin sensitivity and redness. Oatmeal has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It is great for rashes which are caused by poison ivy, eczema, sunburn, chicken pox and allergies. Take a blender. Add oatmeal and grind it properly. Then mix the finely powdered oatmeal in warm bath water. Keep it for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Now bath with the oat water. Do this every day until the rash is gone.

In another method, combine a one-half cup of oatmeal, one-quarter cup of milk powder and two teaspoons of honey in a bowl. Now put this mixture in a muslin cloth. Tie the mixture strongly with a string, ribbon or rubber band. Now place it in a bathtub filled with warm water for at least 15 minutes. Bath in that water every day.

If you get rashes on your face, apply a thick paste made of oatmeal and plain yogurt along with little honey. Leave the paste on for about half an hour before rinsing it off. Do this daily until you see any change.

6Cold Compress

If you have rashes due to which you feel your body is hot, you can apply a cold compress. It helps to reduce itching, swelling. Take few ice cubes in a sealed plastic bag. Now place the cubes on the skin which you have rashes. Repeat a few times every day.

You can also dip a freshly washed cloth in ice-cold water and then place it on the rash for about 10 minutes. Remember, never put ice cubes directly on the skin.
